Description

N-51HR Camshaft works with stock OEM pistons with 1.6 roller rockers.  Piston-to-valve clearance must be checked.  RPM range 2600-6500.


Wildest and Best performer for 302 cu.in. 1.6 R.R. & 6500 rpm and 9:7 comp. Great with TFS Twisted Wedge, Edelbrock w/1.9 intake valve and AFR 165 heads. Must use Anderson Hi-Rev valve springs. Minimum 30lb injectors and 80mm mass air. Recommend 4:30 gears. Poor drivability under 2300 rpm, lumpy idle, rpm range 2600-6500, needs 2800-3400 converter. Must check piston to valve clearance.

Fits the following cylinder heads with stock OEM pistons from 87-95 5.0L

AFR-1399 Air Flow Research Renegade 165cc with 1.9 valves

TFS-51410002-M61 TrickFlow 170cc Twisted Wedge with 2.02 valves

ED-60225 Edelbrock Performer RPM 170cc with 1.9 valves

*Due to varying tolerances you may have to retard the camshaft 2-4 degrees to gain additional intake valve clearance if using stock pistons.

Note* Will NOT fit stock pistons on a 1986 5.0L without valve reliefs in the pistons
