Description
N-51HR Camshaft works with stock OEM pistons with 1.6 roller rockers. Piston-to-valve clearance must be checked. RPM range 2600-6500. Hydraulic Roller. Steel Core. Use steel camshaft gear. Aggressive lopey idle.
Recommendations:
302-347 cubic inch. Use 1.6 roller rockers. Engine compression between 9:7 - 10:1. Must use Anderson Hi-Rev valve springs or upgraded PAC Racing Valve springs with a minimum 150 seat pressure. 3.90 - 4.30 gears. Poor drivability under 2300 rpm. RPM range 2600-6500. Automatic car needs 2800-3400 converter. Must check piston to valve clearance. Custom tuning.
For best results we recommend a 4" Power Pipe® along with a minimum 75mm throttle body or larger. A "free flowing" and high performance exhaust system is also highly recommended.
Increased power band and extra intake valve clearance can be achieved by retarding the cam 4 degrees.
Fits the following cylinder heads with stock OEM pistons from 87-95 5.0L (when retarding the cam)

Note* Will NOT fit stock pistons on a 1986 5.0L without valve reliefs in the pistons
We do not recommend using with stock E7 or stock GT40 iron heads.
